Latin American dances are Cha cha, Paso Doble, Jive, Samba and Rumba. Salsa is under the umbrella of Street Latin, which also includes dances like Argentine Tango, Bachata, Lambada, Merengue, etc. They’re different styles and as such require different techniques.
Actually, Salsa isn’t an International Latin dance, and since International Latin and Latin American are the same thing, it’s not a Latin American dance, it’s Street Latin.
